Egypt’ s technology ecosystem and its position as a gateway to Levant and Africa make it an ideal location for CyberKnight’ s centres of excellence.
Since the launch of Egypt Strategy for Offshoring Industry, Egypt signed 74 agreements with local and global companies. Over 20 companies are opening outsourcing centres for the first time in Egypt while 50 are expanding.
These high growth rates of the Egyptian ICT industry has attracted investments from GCC countries including UAE and significant cross border activity. Here is a snapshot of recent announcements.
CyberKnight
CyberKnight, a cybersecurity value-added-distributor, announced the opening of its new Egypt representative office in New Cairo, District 5. With Egypt emerging as a key technology and cybersecurity hub, CyberKnight’ s further expansion into the country is a strategic move aligned with the growing awareness of cyber risks and the need for strong compliance measures. The representative office will serve as a centre of excellence, supporting the company’ s expanding customer and partner ecosystem across Egypt, Levant, and Africa, region. incubators, training institutions, and integrated systems for AI training, data science, and cybersecurity.
The IT sector in Egypt is creating increased and sustainable employment opportunities in the outsourcing services industry with a focus on higher value services. More than 300,000 jobs are created for the offshoring sector, with over 30 % women participation with plans to scale up the sector’ s employees to reach 500,000 by 2026.
This has been fuelled by the increased number of companies setting up in Egypt and the exponential growth of digital exports reaching $ 6.2 billion in 2023 from $ 4.9 billion in 2022, with a growth rate of about 26 %. The government has plans to increase digital exports to reach $ 9 billion by 2026.
