EDITOR’ S NOTE
Hello and welcome to the latest edition of Intelligent CIO Africa. This month’ s cover story, which can be found on page 14, features Lynne Trivella, Chief Technology Officer at Anchor, who discusses the company’ s journey and technology challenges. Anchor Capital, a leading South African wealth and asset management group, recently merged with UK-based wealth manager Credo, creating a R230 billion group.
The merger significantly expanded Anchor’ s global presence, positioning two-thirds of its assets in international markets. Trivella highlights the company’ s focus on improving the end-user technology experience, ensuring secure operations, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
To address these goals, Anchor Capital partnered with LanDynamix, which provided a tailored solution, including a Security Operations Centre( SOC) and comanaged IT services. This solution enhanced security and productivity, particularly through an upgraded Wi-Fi system and the integration of MS Office 365 for anomaly detection and real-time threat mitigation.
The impact was substantial, with users reporting improved operational efficiency, while LanDynamix continues to roll out phase two of the project. The collaboration has enabled Anchor to better meet its clients’ needs while ensuring a secure and reliable service.
Elsewhere, we learn how Africa is rapidly embracing Digital Transformation, with mobile-first platforms, cloud adoption, and expanding FinTechs reshaping how people work, connect and transact.
However, cybersecurity remains a significant challenge, with many organisations still relying on outdated security frameworks and struggling with identity-based threats. Despite a high level of confidence in current cyberdefences, many organisations lack a cohesive, strategic approach, resulting in vulnerabilities and friction in daily operations.
We discover how Okta’ s approach focuses on shifting businesses from tactical to strategic security, emphasising identity-first security, seamless user experience, and adaptive access to ensure both security and business growth in the digital age. You can read more starting on p24.
