HealthEx launches HealthEx Wallet and partners with Sharecare to advance AIpowered patient healthcare
HealthEx has unveiled HealthEx Wallet, a secure web application designed to give individuals greater control over their medical records, alongside a new partnership with Sharecare that will integrate comprehensive patient data into the AskMD health navigation platform. The announcements were made during the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services( CMS) Health Technology Ecosystem event in Washington, D. C.
The company says the two initiatives are designed to address one of healthcare’ s biggest challenges: fragmented patient records spread across multiple providers, hospitals, pharmacies and laboratories.
By combining a secure personal health record with AI-powered navigation, HealthEx aims to improve access to personalised healthcare while ensuring individuals remain in control of how their data is shared.
HealthEx Wallet provides users with a unified, longitudinal view of their medical history, bringing together records from multiple healthcare providers into a single timeline. Individuals can review diagnoses, laboratory results, medications and clinical notes, identify gaps in their records and decide which organisations or applications can access their information. Every connection can be authorised or revoked by the individual at any time.

“ HealthEx Wallet puts that unified view in the hands of the person it belongs to. Whether you arrive through your health plan, a health app, an AI assistant or come to HealthEx directly, it’ s where your health data works for you, securely and transparently.”
The platform is built on HealthEx’ s Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement infrastructure, using federal IAL2 identity verification standards alongside enterprise-grade encryption and HIPAA-compliant security. According to the company, set-up takes only a few minutes before records are automatically retrieved from connected healthcare providers nationwide.
Alongside the Wallet launch, HealthEx has announced a strategic partnership with Sharecare that will integrate patient-authorised medical records into AskMD, Sharecare’ s AI-powered health navigation service.
The integration will allow AskMD to personalise recommendations using an individual’ s actual clinical history rather than relying solely on symptoms entered during a consultation.
When individuals choose to connect their records, HealthEx will securely assemble medical information from healthcare providers across the country, giving AskMD access to clinical context including medications, laboratory results, diagnoses and physician notes.
The companies believe this will improve symptom guidance, help users understand insurance coverage, locate in-network providers and identify appropriate community healthcare resources.

HealthEx said the collaboration is particularly relevant as more people turn to AI tools to better understand symptoms and medical conditions while healthcare systems continue to face staffing shortages, longer waiting times and growing disparities in access to care. •
