CIN Coatings selects ERP solution from IFS to
power its global expansion

company, has signed an agreement with
Portuguese coatings company CIN for the
implementation of IFS Applications across
all its business areas. The solution includes
IFS Enterprise Operational Intelligence
to provide visual insights throughout the
company’s value chain.
With more than 100 years of experience
in the coatings industry, CIN is the Iberian
market leader.
Headquartered in Portugal, CIN reached
€232 million sales in 2017 in the three most
relevant market segments: architectural,
industrial and protective coatings. With 10
CIN’s rapid expansion and the complexity of
its market led the company to undertake a
strategic project to transform the technology
that underpins its business. The key focus of
the project was identifying a comprehensive,
state-of-the-art ERP platform that could
support CIN’s current needs and future
growth. Essential considerations for the
company were global visibility and advanced
business analytics that would allow the firm to
anticipate its clients’ needs as well as powerful
functionality to streamline critical processes
such as supply chain management.

GE supports Ghana’s digitisation drive

E, the world’s premier Digital Industrial
Company, recently joined a delegation
to Silicon Valley led by Ghana’s Vice
President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who is
currently spearheading the country’s digital
transformation project.
The VP’s focus is to accelerate the
digitisation of the Ghanaian economy
and move Ghana beyond aid dependence.
The delegation aimed to explore the
possibilities of developing strategic insight
and partnerships with leading technology
companies in the Silicon Valley area, such as
GE, Google and IBM.
The VP and his team took a tour of GE
Digital’s San Ramon Facility where the
delegation spent over four hours. They
received an overview of GE’s products
in power, oil and gas and Predix. The
visitors also experienced an augmented
or virtual reality Predix pilot app that was
demonstrated by recent graduates of GE’s
Digital Technology Leadership Programme.
