PROJECT UPDATE LATEST REGIONAL PROJECT UPDATE SUDAN An overhead double circuit electrical transmission line from Toshka 2 transformer station to Arqin station in Sudan is to be installed. The project involves the implementation of the new inter-connectivity project to supply Sudan with electricity at a capacity of about 200 to 300 megawatts with linkage line about 100 kilometres long. The connection begins from the Toshka 2 transformer station to Arqin station in Sudan with a voltage of 220kV. GHANA Nzema Solar Power Station is a 155-megawatt solar power plant located at Aiwiaso Village, Nzema East District, Western Region, Ghana. The power station will use a total of 630,000 solar photovoltaic (PV) modules which, when struck by sunlight, will generate direct current (DC) electricity. Using inverters, the DC will be converted to alternating current (AC), which will be fed in the national electricity grid, to power an estimated 100,000 homes. The project will be developed on 83 hectares (450 acres). 22 INTELLIGENTCIO www.intelligentcio.com
