LATEST REGIONAL PROJECT UPDATE MOROCCO Nabrawind Technologies has signed the sale of its first Self-erecting Nabralift tower, which will be installed in Morocco and will become the tallest tower on the African continent with a hub height of 144 metres. The tower, which has a rated power of 3.6MW, lowed the installation of a full WTG (tower, nacelle, rotor) without using large-size cranes regardless of the final hub-height thanks to the Self-erecting System (SES). The structure that Nabrawind will install in Morocco will automatically become one of the tallest on the planet. The current world record is held by a 178-metre tower installed in Germany. SOUTH AFRICA Technology group, Voith, is strengthening its hydropower service portfolio for Southern Africa. The company introduced its on-site machining and service tools capabilities to customers, business partners and authorities during an official launch event in Witfield, Boksburg. The new services includes the refurbishment of plant components in installed or independent state by linear and circular milling as well as drilling, boring and welding. The on-site machining equipment is stored in sea freight containers on the Voith company premises in South Africa. From there, the equipment is ready to be shipped on the road or on the seaway to any location in Southern Africa. 22 INTELLIGENTCIO www.intelligentcio.com
