LATEST REGIONAL PROJECT UPDATE GHANA Medical diagnostics distributor, Redbird has launched a COVID-19 Daily Check-in App and Symptom Tracker in its bid to counter the spread of Coronavirus across the African continent. Accessible as a browser-based app via, Redbird’s COVID-19 check-in app is a way for every person to self-report symptoms without needing to visit a healthcare facility and therefore aiding social distancing. The solution will enable public health officials from Ghana to see a real-time map of where patients are self-reporting symptoms in order to follow-up directly with high-risk patients. Through this platform, Redbird provides hospitals with digital record keeping and the potential to keep unnecessary patients from visiting hospitals. SOUTH AFRICA The Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation are sharing key lessons and experience from doctors and other medical administrators and staff at the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, who were at the frontline of COVID-19 treatment in China and crucial to slowing its spread. In the form of a digital handbook, the medical administrators and staff cover and share globally what they’ve learned, from screening to diagnosis and treatment of patients who contracted COVID-19. The handbook is available in seven languages: Chinese, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Turkish, with more languages coming soon. 24 INTELLIGENTCIO www.intelligentcio.com
