FINAL WORD
They provide the pervasive connectivity , flexibility , ease of use and service quality that the institutions need to ensure everything is connected .
Prioritising security , reliability and pervasive coverage
While educational institutions look at modernising their current infrastructure , there are different sets of requirements and priorities that these organisations should seriously consider .
Security remains a key priority for higher education institutions and is often one of the primary concerns raised around wireless technology deployment . Based on 3GPP standards , 4G / LTE requires end-to-end encryption and all users and objects must be securely authenticated using SIM cards or embedded SIM ( eSIM ). The overall network security including IT should be addressed as well to ensure proper data protection mechanism for these institutions . IoT represents an unprecedented opportunity to enable a variety of use cases but the security perspective of introducing IoT has to be taken into account as an additional measure of data and network protection for educational institutions .
LTE / 5G networks are based on carrier-grade communications systems and architecture , with inherent capabilities to avoid interference , making them more reliable than other wireless networks .
Higher education campuses also require pervasive coverage , which can be a challenge if there are obstructions on the campus . This does not pose a challenge for LTE as it has an extensive arsenal of tools
The overall network security including IT should be addressed as well to ensure proper data protection mechanism for these institutions .
