Liquid Cyber Security , a business of Cassava Technologies , has launched the first of its matrix of Cyber Security Fusion Centres in Johannesburg , South Africa . With the Fusion Centre , Liquid aims to bolster the cybersecurity industry in South Africa by managing the growing threat of cyberattacks to governments and enterprises of all sizes .

RWANDA
Rwanda has embraced the remote appraisal , supervision , monitoring and evaluation ( RASME ) initiative , a tool that enhances project-related data collection in remote areas . The initiative is a partnership of the African Development Bank ’ s IT Department ( CHIS ), the World Bank ’ s Geo-Enabling initiative for Monitoring and Supervision , and KoBoToolbox Foundation , a non-governmental organisation affiliated with the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative .

The African Development Bank ’ s Coding for Employment programme has selected 500 changemakers , 45 % of whom are women , from four countries for the pilot Digital Ambassadors Programme . The selected Digital Ambassadors will embark on a three-month course during which they will be equipped with in-demand digital skills , such as software development , problem solving , project management and communication .
Kenya based HealthTech company AfyaRekod has launched a fully automated first of its kind Universal Patient Portal , built on Blockchain technology that will transform the face of patient care across Africa and globally . Through a secured centralised platform , patients and medical professionals treating them will have real-time access to their health data and medical history to ensure effective ongoing medical management .

MAURITIUS
African Leadership International ( ALI ), which aims to transform Africa by developing three million entrepreneurial leaders by 2035 , has entered into an agreement to acquire Holberton Inc , a Silicon Valley-founded , project-based , college alternative educating the next generation of software engineers . The acquisition will give ALI ownership of the advanced technology program that will enable it to provide global organisations access to a significant untapped workforce capable of bridging the growing global shortage of tech talent .
