Algeria ’ s bold new agenda to reduce natural gas consumption and conserve oil and gas export revenues by turning to renewable energy fuelled game-changing government-to-government and private sector collaborations across the MENA region , according to Azzan Mohammed , the Exhibition Director , Middle East Energy Dubai .
Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum , Deputy Ruler of Dubai , and hosted by the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure , Middle East Energy Dubai , is a reputable and comprehensive energy event in the MENA region .
The event attracted over 18,000 energy professionals for a three-day conference featuring five key product sections : Smart Solutions , Renewable and Clean
Energy , Critical and Backup Power , Transmission and Distribution , and Energy Consumption and Management .
The return of the live and in-person Middle East Energy Dubai was timely for Algeria , which is pushing to reach 30 % of power generation from renewables by 2030 and to generate 25GW power from green and blue hydrogen by 2050 – a turning point for a country whose oil and gas export success provides more than 90 % of its foreign revenues and 60 % of its national budget .
