RWANDA
Vertiv hosted an end user event in Rwanda in collaboration with PCTL Automation , a provider of industrial automation and process control solutions in East Africa . The event was attended by several key decision-makers from various industries in Rwanda , including telecom tower companies and mobile network operators . With the recent opening of its office in Nairobi , Kenya , and its expanding distributor and partner network in Rwanda , Vertiv has been able to closely support local customers in their critical infrastructure projects .

GHANA
Catchpoint and AFR-IX Telecom have embarked on a journey to improve the quality and reliability of Internet connectivity on the continent . The pilot project will operate two backbone nodes in Accra , Ghana and two in Lagos , Nigeria , allowing Catchpoint ’ s customers to have visibility over the performance and resilience of their products within these regions . The four new nodes supplement Catchpoint ’ s existing observability network footprint of 22 nodes distributed across Africa , spanning Morocco , Tunisia , Libya , Egypt , Uganda , Kenya , Tanzania , and South Africa .

MAURITIUS
MUA , a regional financial services company committed to providing insurance solutions for communities in Mauritius , East Africa , Indian Ocean , partnered with South Africa ’ s SilverBridge to digitalise customer onboarding process . MUA needed an integrated solution that would support its agents and intermediaries with digital solutions while also providing access to real-time data and insights . This resulted in the implementation of the SilverBridge Partner Portal to empower field agents to work remotely while delivering a digitally enhanced customer experience .

ANGOLA
Liquid Dataport and Angola Telecom announced a new terrestrial fibre route between Luanda , Angola to Johannesburg , South Africa , via DRC , Zambia , and Zimbabwe . The addition of this route to Liquid ’ s regional fibre backbone is a significant addition to its existing 110,000 km network , providing its regional customers ’ access to high-speed connectivity at affordable costs . This route traverses through Angola , Democratic Republic of Congo , Zimbabwe , Zambia , and South Africa .

ZIMBABWE
Hytera Communications , has partnered with Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority , to improve the safety of rangers working across the parks and reduce wildlife poaching activities . Hytera has equipped the rangers with advanced Digital Mobile Radios and dispatching software that allows the staff to be mobilised effectively and efficiently across the sprawling parks . The cooperation has also brought Hytera digital two-way radios to the rangers , granting them access to park-wide radio communication .
SOUTH AFRICA
Vertiv announced the official opening of its African head office and state-of-the-art Customer Experience Centre , based in Johannesburg , South Africa . The Johannesburg Customer Experience Centre provides customers with the opportunity to engage with Vertiv ’ s diverse range of critical infrastructure solutions for applications from the edge of the network to the cloud .
Nutanix , announced that South Africa based Metacom has deployed Nutanix Enterprise Cloud as it embraces hyperscalability to match the demands of its growing business . Metacom services clients from diverse industries , with a footprint in the retail sector , where it delivers services to more than 7,000 retail outlets in over 20 countries . Metacom has been able to seamlessly replace ageing infrastructure , gain complete visibility across client sites and geographies , and put itself in a position to scale up client requests in days .
