The African ICT market is poised for further growth , and IDC predicts that ICT spending across Sub-Saharan Africa will increase at a CAGR of 6.1 % over the 2021 – 2025 period . According to IDC , the drivers will be investments in digital innovation accelerators such as 3D printing , AI , AR , VR , robotics , blockchain , and IoT , which will also increase by more than 19 % over this time . Unfortunately , these apps drive complexity , the answer for which is adopting a simplified approach to hybrid multi-cloud .

Cloud costs continue to be top of mind for IT leaders . In fact , according to the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Index , 85 % of enterprises struggle with managing cloud costs . Absa ’ s Tamu Dutuma , Head of Strategy , Governance , and Reporting at Absa , was awarded the Best Ally Award , demonstrating Absa ’ s commitment to gender diversity in the technology industry . Absa had the honour of handing out two awards at the ceremony . The Global Leadership Award , which was presented to Priya Thakoor , Group SVP Digital and Product at Airtel Africa . This accolade recognises an exceptional female vendor who has made a remarkable global impact through outstanding leadership and transformative change in the technology sector .
The second award , the Lifetime Achievement Award , was awarded to Mamokgethi Phakeng , from the Presidency of the Republic of South Africa , and recognises a woman who has dedicated her career to the technology industry , consistently contributing to its advancement and leaving a lasting legacy .
