The whole system is also cloud-ready and could be hosted as a hybrid solution – touch points require hardware hosted on-premises , while most back-end services already run on virtualised containers and in many cases take advantage of serverless technologies that are cloud-friendly .
WHAT WE WANTED TO DO WAS MAKE EVERYONE A HERO BY LEVERAGING TECHNOLOGY AND DATA TO PROVIDE GUIDANCE AT EVERY LEVEL AND TO INTRODUCE SAFETY NETS SUCH AS BILLING CHECKS AND PRE- AND POST-THEATRE CHECKS TO PROTECT ORGANISATION .
Focussed approach on migration
A risk-averse approach was adopted to balance the risk of catastrophic failure that would result in significant challenges in the organisation ’ s ability to operate . It was decided to take over portions of the legacy systems and slowly erode the organisation ’ s dependency on its functions .

Take control of the patient and the hospital visit
All visits would originate and end in the new operational system , with new capabilities in the preadmission and admission features .
Improve average case manager
We introduced a case management dashboard to help focus case managers ’ limited time and introduced tools to assist with coding of clinical conditions and procedures . We introduced business events such as steps in the authorisation and claims processes to help trigger appropriate interventions without the need for a case manager .
Take control of ward activities
We introduced touch screens into wards to assist staff with occupancy management , shift planning , patient care , charting , and ward stock management . Introducing clinical care concepts like TASS scoring and allergy intolerance alerts resulted in an overall increase in positive clinical outcomes , while streamlining the flow of information resulted in better coverage for the patients and an improvement in cash flow for the organisation .
Here , we introduced business events such as ward movements which resulted in better tracking of patients , real-time visibility into occupancy or care concerns , and more accurate billing and accommodation charges .

Theatre is the most expensive resource in a hospital and can have a devastating effect on profitability and patient satisfaction if managed incorrectly . We introduced touch screens into theatre and theatre reception to assist with
