EGYPT
Al Ansari Exchange announced a remarkable increase in the volume of money transfers sent from the UAE to Egypt following recent developments related to the Egyptian Pound exchange rate . The company highlighted a significant rise in the number of financial transfers to Egypt since the Central Bank of Egypt announced the decision to float the Egyptian Pound and liberate its exchange rate according to market mechanisms .

KENYA
Vertiv has kicked off a 2024 incentive that will see new distributors who join the Vertiv Partner Programme receiving additional benefits . This applies to new approved partners within Kenya , Nigeria , Morocco , South Africa , Egypt , who join the programme during the incentive period . Airtel Africa has officially broken ground on its first data centre in Lagos , Nigeria . Nxtra by Airtel is set to be one of the largest networks of data centres in Africa , with high-capacity data centres in major cities located strategically across Airtel Africa ’ s footprint , complementing its existing edge sites . The groundbreaking ceremony of the new data centre , situated on Lagos ’ s Victoria Island , was hosted by Airtel Africa ’ s outgoing Group Chief Executive Officer , Segun Ogunsanya and his successor , Sunil Taldar .

CMC Networks has added Low Earth Orbit , LEO , Medium Earth Orbit , MEO and Geostationary Orbit , GEO satellite connectivity to its portfolio of solutions . This multi-orbit approach addresses the diverse connectivity needs of remote regions and challenging environments across Africa and the Middle East , removing the limits on digital transformation . On 15 March 2024 , Africa saw another connectivity incident involving a major Internet outage affecting West and Central Africa , caused by a break in submarine cable systems .

A partnership between ExiPay and Izwe has resulted in an allin-one point of sale solution , called Izwe Pay , that facilitates payments across mobile money and card payments in Zambia . The country ’ s top three mobile money providers Zamtel , MTN , and Airtel , dominate the market , and banks mainly focus on handling card payments .
