The investment , estimated at $ 140 million over five years , will enable Oracle to develop a full range of cloud services via two data centres located in Casablanca and Settat . Microsoft , AWS , and Google Cloud are also exploring opportunities to develop cloud services in Morocco .
Morocco is an emerging destination for data centre development , with Casablanca currently hosting over 25 data centres and additional capacity coming online .
The government has integrated digital technologies into its internal processes and digitised public services . Moroccans today have access to more than 300 digital public services and companies have access to more than 200 digital public services geared towards SMEs . Additionally , there are 300 services aimed at citizens and 100 for the public sector .
There is an existing digital divide in Morocco , with rural areas and low-income populations having limited access to internet and digital technologies . There are an estimated 1,800 rural villages currently with no Internet access .
Inside Morocco , Trend Micro effectively blocked and detected over 52 million threats , according to its 2023 Annual Cybersecurity Report . This includes the prevention of over 40 million email threats and over 1.6 million malicious URL victim attacks . Additionally , Trend Micro identified and stopped more than 3.7 million malware attacks , showcasing its expertise in safeguarding digital assets in the country .
