EGYPT
Liquid Intelligent Technologies announced it has acquired Cysiv MEA , a technology company that was formerly SecureMisr , headquartered in Cairo . The business specialises in providing enterprise cloud and cyber security services to some of Egypt ’ s leading companies , particularly in the financial services sector . The acquisition allows the London-based group with operations in Africa , UK , US and Latin America , to bring cloud and cyber security products to the Egyptian market .

The Board of Directors of the World Bank approved a Development Policy Financing of $ 450 million aimed at advancing financial and digital inclusion , adding to the two previous financings . The series of financing projects supported the government of Morocco in implementing reforms to improve financial inclusion , digital entrepreneurship , and access to digital infrastructure and services for individuals and businesses . Since 2018 , financial inclusion has been a top policy priority for promoting job opportunities and economic empowerment .

GAMBIA , GUINEA , LIBERIA , SIERRA LEONE
The World Bank Group Board of Directors approved $ 390 million in financing for the first phase of the Kenya Digital Economy Acceleration Project , that will use a multi-phase programmatic approach with two phases . Phase one will run from 2023 – 2028 , focusing on expanding access to highspeed internet , improving the quality and delivery of education and selected government services , and building skills for the regional digital economy .
The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund has approved $ 8 million in funding toward the establishment of a digitally interoperable unique bank identification system and harmonised customer identification framework for The Gambia , Guinea , Liberia , and Sierra Leone . Implementation of the project will commence in July 2023 , led by the West African Monetary Institute , working with central banks of the participating countries and in close collaboration with banking and non-banking financial service providers .

ZAMBIA
Liquid C2 , a business of Cassava Technologies , a pan-African technology group , opened the doors of its Zambian Cyber Security Fusion Centre in Lusaka , making this the third centre of its kind in Africa . Zambia ’ s ongoing digital transformation has seen businesses increase their online service adoption to serve the growing cyber-population . The Zambian CSFC is the third in the matrix of security centres to be launched by Liquid C2 in Africa .
