EGYPT
Khazna Data Centers and Benya Group formalised the Shareholders Agreement to bring the first hyper-scale datacentre to Egypt . The agreement was signed during a highprofile ceremony held on the first day of the Cairo ICT 2023 event . Khazna Data Centers had earlier this year revealed its plans to enter the Egyptian market in collaboration with Benya Group , aimed at building the first hyper-scale datacentre in Egypt ’ s Maadi Technology Park .
With a combined investment totalling more than US $ 250 million , this ambitious venture signifies a significant milestone in both companies ’ shared dedication to promoting digital transformation and innovation in the North African region . The datacentre will provide an additional 25 MW of IT load and is strategically positioned to meet the escalating demand .

The London Internet Exchange , LINX , announced that its interconnection hub in Nairobi , Kenya is now live and ready for business . LINX Nairobi , is the new Internet Exchange Point , IXP for East Africa , located out of three datacentre locations across Kenya ’ s capital . The IXP has the vision to further enhance the countries connectivity and digital ecosystem .

Wingu . africa inaugurated its facility in Addis Ababa , boasting an impressive 161 thousand square feet of space and a power capacity of approximately 10 MW when fully developed . Addis Ababa has emerged as the preferred location for major investments from colocation service providers like wingu . africa and Safaricom .
Kenya is considered one of the technology powerhouses of Africa , undergoing a digital revolution since the early 2000 ’ s the country has reported an average of 10.8 % growth per year since 2016 . COTE D ’ IVOIRE
Liquid Intelligent Technologies will receive R450 million in funding from the International Finance Corporation , IFC and Rand Merchant Bank , RMB each for its South African operations . The total investment of R900 million will support universal and affordable broadband access in the Eastern Cape Fibre Project .
The Eastern Cape is one of the least connected regions in South Africa . Only 65 % of households have Internet access , and only 5 % have access from home . This is twice as low as the average for South Africa , where 10 % of the total population has internet access from home . Liquid SA has invested over R400 million into extending its operations in the region , connecting more than 1,300 government buildings , and creating over 600 permanent and temporary jobs .
Agility announced that the warehouses at its Agility Logistics Park in Abidjan are the first in Cote d ’ Ivoire and West Africa to receive EDGE Advanced certification as green buildings . Agility received EDGE , Advanced certification for the current 27,000 SQM of warehousing at its Abidjan park . EDGE Advanced buildings are zero-carbon ready structures that are at least 40 % more energy efficient than others in the market .
The EDGE Advanced warehouses in Abidjan park provide energy savings ranging from 57 % to 74 %; water savings ranging from 53 % to 57 %; and construction materials containing 63 % to 69 % less embedded carbon . Energy efficiency was enhanced through reduced window-to-wall ratios , insulated roofing and exterior walls , and special lighting .
