Trust forms the core of interactions . Members entrust us as their user group , because we have consistently demonstrated our ability to connect them with experts and solutions within our community . This trust is a twoway street : it relies on how SAP communicates with us as a user group , and in turn , how we reciprocate by sharing valuable information with our members .
When faced with challenges , we rise to the occasion . We ensure that the assistance our members seek is readily accessible through the user group . Our platforms , including Special Interest Groups , foster meaningful exchanges . These groups represent various lines of business and industries , where challenges and pain points are openly discussed and demystified . The goal ? To ensure that everyone comprehends the needs being addressed .
Let me illustrate with an example of an AFSUG member in the financial sector . They grappled with pain points but found solace by implementing an SAP Cloud solution . Their journey did not end there — they generously shared their experience and outcomes with the community . This collaborative spirit not only alleviated their own challenges but also enriched the collective knowledge of our user group .
Which generic technologies and innovations can make a difference to your end customers ’ business ?
Various emerging SAP innovations , such as data analytics , business intelligence , cloud computing , and AI , are making their mark in the SAP user community .

SAP recently introduced Joule ; a generative AI assistant that promises to transform the way businesses operate . Joule will be embedded into various SAP applications , including HR , finance , supply chain , procurement , customer experience , and the SAP business technology platform .
SAP user groups play a crucial role in bridging the gap between AI advancements and their members . I believe through advocacy , collaboration , and education through knowledge sharing , we can contribute to responsible AI adoption and community well-being . Closer collaboration with SAP becomes necessary for user groups as users can influence SAP ’ s AI development by providing feedback and use cases .
Which aspects of your job role do you find rewarding and which challenging ?
The most fulfilling part is witnessing the impact the User Group has on the local community through networking efforts , amplified by the success of hosting the 2023 SAPHILA event , which brought together over 1,000 SAP users , partners , and representatives from Africa . In 2024 , new initiatives , like the Gen-Connect Network , Youth SIG , Collaboration Forum , Women in IT , and planned Executive Forum , will help to further grow our community in a sustainable manner , enhancing the services we provide , evolving our engagement strategies , and adapting over time .

How do you best like to de-stress and recharge off work ?
I enjoy going to the gym , spending time outdoors , engaging in physical activities like hiking , and spending quality time with family and friends . Attending SUGEN in Germany serves as both a professional endeavour and a fantastic opportunity to recharge . Interacting with like-minded colleagues allows me to gain fresh perspectives , and stepping away from work temporarily revitalises my energy and focus . p
